In a keynote address entitled "Rooted in the Capital’s Development, Writing a Splendid Chapter in Scholarship", President He Yalan exchanged views with participating experts and scholars on Beijing's practice in building China's independent intellectual system in philosophy and social sciences. She noted that China's independent intellectual system in philosophy and social sciences is a theoretical system rooted in China. It must take China and the evolving times as its points of reference, be grounded in China's realities, and address China's own issues. The capital's philosophy and social sciences community,  guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, has rooted its work in Beijing's practice of Chinese modernization, upheld ideological guidance, strengthened research foundations, emphasized practical application, and reinforced institutional safeguards, thereby making active contributions to building an independent intellectual system. Our Academy has also taken proactive steps by planning and publishing landmark achievements, including the book series Beijing Practice of Chinese Modernization, deepening research on Beijing's history and culture, accelerating the development of emerging and interdisciplinary disciplines, strengthening its role as a high-end think tank for the capital, deepening institutional and systemic reform, and continuously stimulating the endogenous momentum of research. Through these efforts, it has made its due contribution to building an independent intellectual system. President He Yalan stated that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, our Academy will firmly seize the opportunities of the times, better serve the overall work of the Party and the country, and contribute more effectively to the capital's high-quality development. It will strive to serve as an interpreter of the Party's innovative theories, a practitioner of scholarship for the people, an advisor on the capital's reform and development, a pioneer in building an independent intellectual system, and a promoter of academic exchanges between China and the rest of the world, thereby making even greater contributions to building an independent intellectual system.
The forum featured three parallel sub-forums on " New Missions and New Tasks of Guizhou Studies""The Construction and Practice of Humanistic Economics" and "Innovation and Integrated Development of Regional Studies". An Dawei, an Assistant Researcher and young scholar at our Academy's Institute of Local Chronicles and History, delivered an academic presentation titled "Capital City · Sacred Sites · Eight Banners". He exchanged views with experts and scholars on the distinctive content and features of Beijing local gazetteers from the Qing Dynasty.
