BASS’s Blue Books Win New Awards

From Nov 28 to 29, 2025, the 26th National Annual Conference on Blue Books (2025) was held in Beijing. A significant outcome of the conference was the announcement of the awarding of the 16th "Excellent Blue Book Awards". Beijing Academy of Social Sciences (BASS) achieved new success: "Annual Report on Digital Economy of Beijing (2023-2024)" and "Annual Report on Public Service of Beijing (2023-2024)" won the first and second prizes of the "Excellent Blue Book Awards" respectively.

As a key achievement of BASS think tank, the "Annual Report on Digital Economy of Beijing" has systematically tracked Beijing's development into a global digital economy benchmark city for four consecutive years. The report comprises seven chapters: General Report, Evaluation, Theory, Special Topics, Comparison, Outlook, and Appendix. It systematically summarizes and discusses the development mode and path of Beijing's digital economy, and fully forecasts the trends of Beijing's development.

The "Annual Report on Public Service of Beijing" systematically reviews the capital city's groundbreaking practices in basic public services. With detailed data and vivid case studies, the report presents a panoramic view of the capital city's leap from equal coverage to high-quality and inclusive public services. Addressing key issues in public services development, such as the urban-rural gap and service efficiency, the research team, in collaboration with government departments and university experts, has put forward a series of forward-looking and feasible policy proposals.

Since 2009, BASS’s research books have won the first prize of the National Excellent Paper Award 7 times, the second prize 10 times, and the third prize 8 times. Meanwhile, the overall quality has steadily improved. In the 2024 comprehensive evaluation of blue books published by Social Sciences Academic Press, BASS’s six blue books have been rated Class A, ranking among the top in the provincial academies of social sciences.
